
I’m sure you’ve seen pictures of these little guys before! Especially the kits (babies). They’re a type of fox, called the ‘fennec’ fox.
The smallest of the foxes, and of the canid world, the fennec fox is identified by its relatively huge ears, which serve to dissipate heat. They weight between 0.68 -1.6kg, and are approx 20cm (8 inches) tall. Fennec foxes are sociable animals which mate for life; each pair or family has its own territory.
You can find these guys in the Sahara and in northern Saudi Arabia.
